Free Margin

The portion of account equity not tied up as margin, available to open new trades or absorb losses.

Free margin is the amount of equity left over after subtracting margin already committed to open positions. It's the real-time cushion that absorbs floating losses before a margin call is triggered, and it's what actually limits how many additional positions can be opened — not the account balance shown at the top of the platform.
